Preseason Checklist

We are in the final month of preseason activities before tryouts start, and it's a good chance to review a few things that we'll need to take care of before tryouts start:

IMPACT testing- IMPACT testing is the tool we use to establish baseline cognitive functions when diagnosing a concussion / head injury. They are critically important to our ability to protect our players. ALL 9th and 11th graders are required to complete IMPACT testing and any sophomore or senior who is joining us for the first time will need to as well. On 2/21, we will be doing group IMPACT testing with Julie Ascher at 3:45 PM. The players have been instructed to meet at her training room in the high school.

Concussion Education - EVERY player is also required to watch an online educational video and complete a short quiz about concussions / head injury before the start of tryouts. The link to his is here and posted on our homepage under "Important Links": https://www.sportsafetyinternational.org/cw-athlete-course/. The players have been instructed to screen shot their quiz results and post them in the team GroupMe.

Fees - if your player has outstanding fees at the start of tryouts, you will be contacted by the school. If they are not settled, your player may be suspended from participating until those are resolved. They can be paid through Skyward or arrangements can be made with Mona Hauver in the school office.

We want to start our season with as few interruptions as possible, and the more we can do now the better off we will be. We are looking forward to an amazing season with your players, and can't wait to get started. Thank you for your help in making sure we are ready to go!
